How To Write A Will By My Own?
Writing your own will will be much easier if your bequest and assets are straightforward. As long as you are following the laws, you will will stand up in the court and will execute as you wish.
Furthermore, writing your own will will be divided into two methods; you draft it in your PC or you do typewriting, or even you take it from our sample will form.
Step 1 – The first step is an introduction by beginning with the label of the document “Last Will and Testament”. You have to write down the name, address and your age should be above 18 years old. Keep in mind you don’t write your last will in under pressure circumstances.
Step 2 – Select your executor. The person will execute your last will after you die according to your direction in the document. Most people write down their spouse as the executor, but you can also include your friend who you trust the most and don’t have any business with your family and assets so it will not be a dispute in the future.
First, you have to talk with the person about his responsibility and ask his permission to include him to be the executor.
Step 3 – Identifying your heirs is the third step. Please be wise when it comes to this part. Think about the primary beneficiaries such as life partner and children. Or you can leave it to another person, but you need to be clear in your statement. Avoid any ambiguity as much as you can. Besides, note that some states allow the spouse to have a right to get inherited. Or, if you are not sure about it, you can ask legal advice if you want to disinherit your spouse.
Step 4 – Think about the guardian of your kids if they still need it. Choose a person who will take care of them until they reach their age to live alone and speak to the guardian candidates about it. Mention also the responsibility of the person and the commitment for so many years. If you don’t have any idea about it, the court will help you appoint the guardian.
Step 5 – Divide the property by listing your assets including bank account, real estate, bonds, stocks and also tangible assets. Describe how your assets will be distributed. Be wise when you are writing the distribution of your assets because this will create tension among your family.
Step 6 – Next step is signing the will using an online program. Check if your state requires you to notarize your signature to bind and make it legal.
Step 7 – Ask the witness to sign the will. Ask at least two witnesses and they should not be included in the beneficiaries.
